we are starting to look for a place to relocate in the next few years. i've no idea where to start. we love the mountains but aren't crazy about the snow. we're currently near chicago but looking for someplace a bit quieter, though not in the sticks, with things to do and see. where are you from and what's it like?

i'll be driving from nashville to seattle at the end of november. i have a few different routes i can choose from. I40 and then north - would maybe be the safest but also add an extra day to the travel. Otherwise, i'm thinking to head towards St. Louis and from there i can take 70 West and then north, or wedge my way up to I80 and then north, or just head up to I90 and take that all the way.

I'm thinking end of November will be hit or miss, it might still be doable weather or it might be cold/wintery and snowy.

any suggestions would be helpful - thank you

Ever since I was little I fell in love with California...Santa Barbara, Ventura. I have not been there in about 8 years. So I have this dream of it....I know that it has changed alot! I live in Washington State and have lived here my whole life! I recently had a son that I wan't to raise in a "good" town...which mine is, but I am constantly thinking of California. Would it be a smart move or should I just stay where I am at. How much has it changed since I went last?

Hi I will be arriving at Grand Central from New Haven at about 10.30am/11.15am and I have a flight to catch at JFK at 4pm i would prefer to be at JFK as early as I can. What I am wantign to know what is the BEST and EASIEST way for me to get there. Im not so much bothered re the cost although I dont want to pay through the nose!!!! I just want to easiest way and roughly how long it will take and if there is any chance of traffic hold ups at that time. Oh it is Monday the 5th of November that i will be travelling.

Yes I know can't really compare 2 cities like this, but reason is that I would like to have a holiday there soon, and can't really decide of where to go. I will be there for app. 9 days, and I would like it to be be a satisfying break, where I can explore and have fun. I'm from London, so would like to see something totally different than rainy days. Any suggestions?
