I want to fly as far as possible. Can anyone give me any ideas of some great vacations--we LOVE ocean and pristine beaches-Florida is a cheap flight for us and too close to use for these nonlimiting tickets--any ideas about California? when is the best time to go, road trip? land where? best beaches to visit and should think about may be cruise on that side of the us? Ideas please because I need to plan by January and I am stagnated and cannot find enough info on California as to their beaches and do we rent a car and drive up the coast? Also, when is their summer because I dislike cold weather - I live in it 10 out of 12 months where I live. Thank you to everyone that can help me with some insight......all ideas will be considered....other than giving the tickets up because they are nontransferable and could only be used on the "continent" of the US. Thanks

I'm about to graduate with the sort of degree that should enable me to find a job wherever I like, and I'm thinking about heading to Alaska.

I hope to use the years between finishing my Masters and heading back to school to get my student loans paid back, so the idea is to make as much money as possible. Is the cost of living there so ridiculously high I won't be able to break even or come out ahead?

What else should I know before considering a move like that?

He wants me to go with him to a football game which is about 130 mi away from home. He says we can spend the nite at a motel and come home the next day.
The problem is he sleeps so much I cannot stand it. Last time I went on a trip with him, he slept from about 10 pm at nite until almost noon the next day. I was sitting in the motel lobby waiting for him to get up.
He goes on and on and on about how tired he is. I personally think he is depressed or sick. I am dreading this trip. Last time I went with him on a trip, he ended up driving out thru the country to small towns which were not even on the map and he did not know the roads and I was afraid he would have a wreck because his driving is terrible and the road signs did not clearly indicate curves and bridges. I would rather just drive back home down the interstate so I can take care of some stuff at home and get my garage ready for winter.
How can I get out of this?

Just wondered if anyone knew if i would be eligible for the US Visa waiver scheme.

I got arrested twice when i was 12 or 13 for shoplifting, only cautioned. No arrests since childhood. On the form it asks "Have you EVER been arrested or convicted of any offence involcing moral terpitude".

I have had a CRB check done recently and nothing appeared but do i have to declare these childhood arrests and apply for a visa? dont fancy getting there and being sent home. Any advice appreciated.
