Have lived in and around Los Angeles for 51 years and I can tell you we have a wide variety of people and places out here.
They've been revamping the downtown area of Los Angeles, so you might want to take a tour around Chinatown, Olvera Street,Union Station and then on to Hollywood. They've been fixing that part of town up too. You could spend the whole day walking up and down Hollywood Blvd and seeing all of the performance artists. I hope you're planning on spending a long time out here, because you can go from Santa Monica Pier to Newport Beach and keep going down to Laguna Beach. It's a very big place. Enjoy yourself.
