Just wondered if anyone knew if i would be eligible for the US Visa waiver scheme.

I got arrested twice when i was 12 or 13 for shoplifting, only cautioned. No arrests since childhood. On the form it asks "Have you EVER been arrested or convicted of any offence involcing moral terpitude".

I have had a CRB check done recently and nothing appeared but do i have to declare these childhood arrests and apply for a visa? dont fancy getting there and being sent home. Any advice appreciated.

thanks

If it was not a formal arrest, and like you say, just cautioned, you need not declare that on your visa form.

BTW, why do you need to fill a visa form if you are from a country whose citizens are eligible for visa waiver for visits upto 90 days?

Try using the Visa Waiver Wizard online from the US Embassy. It will tell you if you meet the critieria for the waiver.

If you get to the US and have given false info on the waiver form and then pop up on their computer search you will be sent back and denied a VISA. Don't risk it..

I even have heard you do not qualify for the visa waiver scheme now whether you have in basic terms been arrested, as you be conscious of this incorporates your warning (as apposed to convicted it particularly is the placement in Canada and was in the U.S) i for my area have never heard 'ethical turpitude' stated. If i grow to be you i might double verify with the Emmbasy. They do do spot tests on the valadity of the information you supply on arrival in U.S; i be conscious of this because of the fact i be conscious of somebody who 'forgot' to declair a minor situation; they did enable him proceed on his holiday after particularly a lenghty interview - not the final thank you to commence your hol's.

Because you were only cautioned when you were a kid, I don't think you need to worry about declaring it. However, you can always speak to the US Embassy.

so, don't mention it... especially if it was only a warning... if it ever comes up, then say that it was not something you thought was considered that way. plus, the crb check said nothing appeared.

Yes, really don't worry about it. It will not show on any record at all. Your CRB check said you're fine - you're fine.
