I think that WV does have a beautiful landscape, however, I would have to agree that they are Really big hills, or really small mountains. I could see that Colorado be called the mountain state....or montana...but WV is questionable.
West Virginia's slogan right now is "Wild and Wonderful"...you can start from there. It has a TON of outdoor recreation opportunties....Hiking, Biking, Rafting, Climbing...

WV has the highest mean Elevation of any state east of the Mississippi. West Virginia has a rugged hill and valley landscape with very little flat land. The eastern third are mountains by any definition - both in height and geology. The western two thirds are hill-valley but with steep terrain and elevation differences 500 to 1000 feet. Mountainous on any human scale.

The Mountain State sounds extra suitable.in basic terms approximately Heaven could have too many distinctive meanings based on who you're conversing to. Wild and beautiful sounds like a waterfall play floor. Mountain State sounds regal and authentic.

I can only argure why it WOULN'T be a good slogan. West VA hardly has mountains. It's more like hills. The western US has mountains. WV pales in comparison. Do you have to argue for?
