I lived in Vermont for 7 years, and one of my best friends currently lives in Connecticut. Here's what we know: Connecticut is often used as a "cheap" living area for NYC commuters, so it can be very expensive in areas. Vermont, as a whole state, is less expensive, but it is significantly more expensive in the Burlington/Chittendon County area than the rest of the state. The winter weather in Vermont is more severe - colder, more snow. I really was snowed in a few times! They plow very well, but the weather is just worse. The cost of winter heating is high, but many houses don't have A/C for the summer. Honestly, there are so many factors, that you might start with a simple calculator to see how the cost of living is different in these two areas. The one from Money magazine is in the link below.

Connecticut is generally more expensive than Vermont as far as real estate and property tax. Plus, Vermont seems more relaxed. You will get a little more snow up in Vermont but it's not that big of a difference depending on what town.
Either one would be a really nice place.

Connecticut because there are plenty of beautiful cities with plenty of things to do. Great restaurants, attractions, casinos, and entertainment. Vermont is dull, retire in Connecticut.

I don't know about either. But I do know that $1 is equal to 18.89 lempira in Honduras and it costs about 2 lempira for a beer. The cost of living is really cheap, the health care is way better than here and you can buy a two-story 4 bedroom house on the beach for about $180,000 plus about 6 acres of land. You can live there like a king or queen and never get tired of it either.
