I have family members who are moving there soon from New Jersey. Please answer any of these questions.

Is it really true that the air in Arizona is really clean?

Does it get too cold there (below freezing makes them sick)?

If you've been to Jersey, is Jersey better or worse than AZ?

Sorry, i feel dumb asking this, are there really cactuses there and tumbleweed?

If you live in Arizona... what's your overall opinion of your city... do you like it there?

Thanks!

i'm trying to move to alaska and i need to find a job before i get there. i'm not so interested in living in anchorage (i lived there for a few months while i worked for the cruise lines), but i wouldn't mind living in fairbanks, juneau, or even one of the smaller places. i love the wilderness, but would like a job that supports myself. i graduated from a university with a BS in physics, but is that even relevant for Alaska?

And teaching in alaska, how easy/ hard is that process? I dont have certification, but wouldn't mind teaching physics or math.

Any help would be fantastic. I'd like to hear from folks who live in AK.

I am looking to move and the only criterion for the move are that the air is fairly clean (not high in allergians), the schools are very good and the neighborhoods are low in crime. does anyone know of any places like this?

I currently live in Reno, Nevada, and I am going to explode if I don't get out of here soon.

What I want is pretty simple.
It HAS to be peaceful. Low crime rates... of course.
Affordable cost of living.

The rest of want I want, is just things I'd like...
Christian community.
No hurricanes, tornados, ect.
Friendly, polite people.
Small town away from big cities and things.
Walmart. (My home away from home no matter where it is lol)

(If you have lived in Reno, you can see that what I want is pretty much the exact opposite of what I have right now.)

Also, I'm only 17, will be leaving as soon as I'm 18. So a place that a young person could survive would be nice +^_^+

Has anyone ever traveled on Amtrak from the east coast to the west coast?
I will be traveling with 2 children (2 & 5). Any advice or suggestions to make the trip go smoothly? Also, i noticed it gets to one destination and there is a huge layover until the next train leaves. Will i have to sit at the station and wait the whole time until my next departure? Please help!

A couple months back my husband entered a contest to win a car(one of those things you see in the middle of the mall type of thing) and he got a call yesterday that he was a finalist to win the car or $25,000. All that we have to do is go take a tour of a timeshare and then we get two keys and we have to see what we win. We are guaranteed to win atleast two prices (a flat screen tv, $5,000, etc) Now I think this is a huge scam. You don't get something for nothing. I mean I know we have to sit through the whole tour and stuff, but still it hardly seems worth it for them. But my husband says we should go. So has anyone actually done one of these and gotten something? I'm afriad it'll be like the Family Guy episode and we'll be stuck with the mystery box.

I am going to louisana. I am leaving around jun 28 and plan to be back around jul 3. I have to go about 45 min north of new orleans. Is it better to go online and book the flight, hotel, and car all together or get a travel agent and have them arrange all that stuff. does anybody have any experiance planing the whole trip online? what would you reccomend? how far ahead of time should I book a flight to get the best deal? It will be 2 adults traveling from minnesota.

Round trip, I'm thinking of taking 80-west from PA to CA, then 40-East from CA to Kentucky then back to PA.

Is 2 weeks sufficient time for a somewhat relaxed trip? If we stop impulsively at a lot of National Parks and curiosities along the way?

How much should we factor in for gas?
