Depends who you talk to. Technically yes New York is in America. Interestingly enough with the exception of the borough [county ] of the Bronx none of it is attached to the American mainland , The city is on three islands ; Manhattan , Staten and Long
New York is very much a city of the world that happens to be located off the American coastline. It is not a representative American city . Chicago would be more representative.
