I would go with either Los Angeles or San Francisco.

LA is so big so you want have trouble filling up seven days there. Plus it's not a far drive from San Diego and you can always take the Amtrak train down there too, even if it's only for a day. You also have tons of themeparks to choose from if that's interests you.

SF is a great city to visit too but not sure if it can fill seven days worth b/c it's kind of small. The wine country and Redwood Forests are close by if you want to visit those areas as well. A day trip to Napa, Monterey, the Northern Coast, and even Lake Tahoe would definately fill up 7 days worth of visiting if you went to SF.

Southern CA has a lot more people than Northern CA, so if you just want to stay in the city and not really visit areas surrounding them then I would say Los Angeles. But if you are willing to take some day trips then SF is a good bet too.

You can rule out Denver and Phoenix, both of which are not on the west coast. I would go to San Francisco or San Diego. LA is too big and polluted. Seattle is too rainy. Have fun.

Seattle, hands down. Is Denver now on the coast? That last earthquake must have been a doozy.......

For an out of the way trip, check out Kettle Falls in WA, and Yreka in California.

San Diego has the best weather. LA is the biggest and most diverse. San Francisco is super. Seattle is super. Phoenix and Denver are OKay but not special.

Being a California native, you HAVE to go to San Francisco! It has so much to offer and appeals to people of any interest! Great sites, great food, great nightlife, etc..A city that you will never forget.

Depends on your interests...do you like hiking/nature/ National Parks? Do you like celebrities, movies and Hollywood? Do you like the beach? Do you like warm weather or cooler weather? Do you like animals? Theme parks? Are you a foodie? Art museums? Historical places?
