Obviously there are no dirt cheap areas to live in nyc, but where are some more affordable housing options that are still close to everything, and safe? (affordable being in around 250,000 for a place) Also what are some ways to live cheaply, so that you still have extra money to spend on leisure activities such as vacations and stuff?

I live in NYC and wanted to go for a day hike somewhere nearby that was accessible by train (metro-north, LIRR, etc). Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a nice, clean, safe, fun beach for my family and friends to enjoy this weekend. The closest thing we have in NYC that EVERYONE goes to is Brighton and Orchard, I'm sorry to sound bitter, but those two are NOT an option.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm curious because I have been summoned with a 'public urination' ticket and would like to bring up the fact, in court, that it seems very odd that there isn't some minimum amount of public restrooms available to the public for one of the largest public transportation systems in the country. Thanks,

My family got 2 extra days in the North East. 3 days will be spent in NYC and NYC only, and the remainding two seems to be the tough part, where. The choices as stated above are DC, Penn, or Niagra Falls, and I'm sure this will have to be an overnight trip.

I got $400 for my birthday and want to use it here, I'm 21 and my 14 year old sister will come along with her own money. Which of the 3 will give us the most experience and fun for our money? Can you tell me the pros and cons of the places and what's the most affordable and quickest way to get there from Newark.

It is the most populated city in the united states, yet it has the highest cost of living? So how are people affording to live there is my question! According to home prices you almost have to be rich to own your own place!

I want to live in the West Village, love the older buildings. The boyfriend wants to live elsewhere. Are there any neighborhoods in the city similar to the Village, with a more reasonable rental rate?

Thanks much.

I have looked everywhere for a website or ANY information other than the bare basics about this hotel. I'm interested in architecture, floorplan, clientele... ANYTHING!

I've looked for books on the subject as well, but I seem to come up empty-handed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
