Welcome to New York and have fun!!
None of them are too fancy and they are all fairly close to each other so you can walk to all. Bowery is the only one that can get a little fancy but if you smoke it is one of the few that has outdoor seating, and some pretty ladies...
•Nevada Smiths

New York, NY 10003
(212) 982-2591
A popular NYU bar and one of the most popular "soccer" (football) bars in the city. It is in the East Village.
•McSorley's Old Ale House Bar in New York

New York, NY 10003
(212) 473-9148
Established in 1854 - McSorley's can boast of being New York City's oldest continuously operated saloon. Everyone from Abe Lincoln to John Lennon have passed thru Mcsorley's swinging doors.

•Puck Fair

•Crocodile Lounge

•Petes Tavern
129 E 18th St
New York, NY 10003
(212) 473-7676
It's hard to have anything but a soft spot for Pete's Tavern. Established in 1864 and thereby in the running for the much-disputed title of New York's oldest bar in continuous operation.
•Bowery Bar (BBar)
40 E 4th St
New York
(212) 475-2220
BBar and Grill, a downtown institution with a beautiful 3,000 square foot garden and classic interior, remains a consistent favorite with New York's most fashionable crowd. The year-round garden, which is enclosed and fully heated in winter and open to the stars in the summer, has a canopy of trees, wisteria, and ivy and offers an ideal setting for weekend brunch with the kids, after work cocktails, or late night snacks.

as long as you are going to be doing your crawl on the weekend go to the corner of MacDougal and Bleecker st. It's the best area for a bar crawl. The streets are full of people with bars on either side.
also:
Lower east side - Orchard and ludlow run parralell and have a bunch of good bars
or
3rd ave between 20th and 40th st. plenty of fun bars

I recently stumbled accross the QT bar just off times square.
It has a swimming pool and sauna in it, and changing rooms and lockers. We didnt use the facilities as obviously didnt know about the place but it was quite strange ordering drinks from the bar standing next to other people in swimsuits.
Is open till about 3am. (might be under a hotel - not sure)
