Hi - I'm relocating to New York in December and am looking for a nice, apartment/studio to rent out on a month to month basis for a 2/3 months or so. My budget is around $2000 a month (or just a bit over) and i'd like a nice, safe location.
I've looked on Craigslist but have gone off the idea of sublets. Any suggestions for reasonable apart-hotel type places?
(And now ridiculously high are broker fees?!)

Native New Yorkers only -- I'm tired of seeing friends only over dinner and would like to plan some Saturdays (or Saturday nights) experiencing something with friends. I've thought of meeting for a Met scavenger hunt or bowling at Bowlmor lanes...any other fun ideas? (Nothing touristy b/c we all live here!) We're all about mid-30s in age, if that helps...

(This question was also posted under the Dining out section)

I am staying in Newark International for five days and trying to find the cheapest route using city transportation. The shuttle form the airport is 15.00 one way I heard the PATH is cheaper but dont know how to find it or get to it. If any New Yorkers out there can help with some information. I dont want to spend 300.00 just to get to and from the hotel. Thanks.

I'm going to New York for a short break in January and I want to get out of the city for 2-3 days into the countryside. I'll have a car. Any recommendations on where to go?

Me and my boyrfriend want to go to New York over the Christmas and New Year period, and we was just wondering where we can get the best deal. We ideally want to stay in central New York, i.e. Manhattan rather than New Jersey. Was just wondering if anyone can help with getting the best deal over this time period as we're hoping to spend 7/8 nights there. Can anyone help? xx

Would consider any n-hood in Manhattan. Can pay up to about $3,000/mo for rent. Looking for lively area with local coffee shops, restaurants, and single women of course.
