Depending on the time of day and traffic, it might cost you about $10-$20. It is much cheaper (and probably faster) to take the subway:
Take the A or C Train south to the Broadway-Nassau Street Station. When you exit, you will be on Fulton Street, walk approximately 5-6 blocks east directly to the South Street Seaport.

I suggest the subway, although the south street seaport is kind of off to itself.
Cabs:
2.50 Flat.
1.00 Surchange for Late night driving, and Rush hour driving.
.40 cents or so (cant remember exactly, they keep changing it ) for each 1/5 of a mile, or minute spent in traffic.
+ Tip
I'd say it'd cost no more then twenty dollars, if it's not very trafficy, and your driver knows where there is traffic, and the best way to get there.
Depends how much traffic there is, also it could be hard to find one
