Most of the swap meets I have been to around here, seem to sell only knock off designer sunglasses, cell phone covers, cologne, cheap clothing, etc. Are there any swap meets, etc, that resemble the Saturday Market in Portland, OR, in craft, merchandise, and general feel? Just wondering, I have lived in LA for 5 years, and I havent been able to find anything close to it, but maybe I havent been looking hard enough. Thanks for the input.

Family of 4, two daughters 15 and 10. We have a boat, but are looking for something different this year and we are going in October! We want to drive rather than fly. We like the beach, but with having a boat, we are thinking of going to the mountains for a change. Anyone with good suggestions?

1. People say its cheap. But how cheap for example?
2. If its REALLY cheap there, do the things you buy tear easily or have poor quality?

Whenever I go to LAX I look at the green colored signs but it doesn't say green line shuttle to avaition station. it just says shuttles and other things? theres a red sign and a blue sign also.

I'm wondering if the weather around LA is hot and humid in the summer months or is it more of a dry heat? I always thought LA weather was in the 70's, lol...I guess I was wrong. I just looked at weather.com, and I was surprised to see that LA and some of the cities in the San Gabriel valley actually have average temperatures in the 90's in the summer. I'm just wondering if it's a dry heat or a humid, soggy heat. I'm from the southeast, and the summers here are unbearably hot and humid...ughh. I'm probably moving to one of the cities in the San Gabriel Valley in August and am hoping that the weather is less humid and more dry. Any ideas?
