Depends on you. You can take your time and spend 2 weeks or do 5 hour shifts with a co-pilot on a mission from God and do it in 48 hours. (Arizona, New Mexico 100 miles = 1 hour). I used to regularly drive 1000 miles a day and my advice is to start very early, like 1-2AM. I have made it from NYC to Des Moines Iowa in one shot.

If you decide to do stupid things like this, if you get sleepy stop IMMEDIATELY. The road will hypnotise you.

The smartest way to go if travelling alone is start every day at 2-3AM, drive until afternoon, get a hotel and relax and repeat and 4 days will be easy. 3000 miles in 4 days is 750 per day and you are half done for the day when you stop for breakfast.

It's been done in four days by a masochistic Albanian dwarf with his teeth caught in the steering wheel. Cleveland--Des Moines--Denver--San Francisco. But it is recommended only in an emergency.

People do it routinely in five days. We recommend a spare driver and plenty of pit stops. Again, this is guaranteed to give you a case of the heebie-jeebies that will last a couple of weeks.

As the guys say, seven days is the personal ideal. You can actually stop a couple of places and look around. We recommend the Strategic Air Command Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. And you can arrive fairly well rested and in sociable condition.

Its 2818 miles. Driving 10 hrs a day it would be about 4 days.

I have done it in 3 days, with several people in the car, each taking a turn at the wheel while the others slept.

If you wanted to enjoy it and see stuff along the way you might take a week or more.

I once did San Fran to NYC in 3 days (70 hours), but that did not allow for seeing much of anything, except roadside scenery.
