You could maybe make that kind of time real late at night. But.. Average time to L.A downtown is around 4 and 1/2 hours. and it can be a lot longer if traffic doesn't cooperate. LA seems to be a continuous rush hour these days so plan ahead. good luck

If you drive an average of 75 mph, LA to Fresno should only take 4 hours.

Well I just did this trip myself not too long ago. Heading down on 99 it was pretty quick. Only about an hour and a half. We did go about 80 miles an hour though. Flow of traffic kind of thing. Once you get passed The Six Flags though... be prepared to stop. NO JOKE. It then took us THREE HOURS once we hit the HWY 5 to get down into Orange county. If you are in a time crunch go fast on the 99 and give yourself enough time to get were ever you want to go only going 15 miles an hour. You could also take 99 down to HYW 33 and follow it west to the PCH or HWY 1. From there just drive down into LA, it would make the second half of the drive more scenic that way, but still almost five hours long.

As per Mapquest, the 219 mile trip should take three hours, twenty-three minutes. That, of course, doesn't take gridlock, earthquakes, or civil unrest into consideration.

The distance is around 225 miles or 3.5 or so hours, depending on traffic.

Good luck.
