Looking for lodging in or near Harker's Island (Cape Lookout), NC in July. Any suggestions?

We are a family of 5 (two adults, two teens and one 8 year old) heading to Cape Lookout. We vacation for two weeks in Nags Head and find ourselves seeking out all the lighthouses in the Outer Banks. Cape Lookout will complete our goal. We understand it will be a long day and would like to stay overnight so we can relax and enjoy our trip and not be on a strict schedule. Could use some help from those in the know.

Can you help choose an area of New York City to stay in?

I'm gonna use Hotwire.com to book my NYC vacation. I've used this site before so I know how it works, but I've never been to NYC. Which neighborhood should I choose to get my hotel: MIDTOWN EAST, TIMES SQUARE THEATRE DISTRICT, MIDTOWN CENTRAL DISTRICT, OR CENTRAL PARK AREA?
