Las Vegas has the best slot machines. However, not all slot machines are equal. The hotels give better winning odds on machines that they know will be played by repeat customers that come back often, like Vegas locals, and don't care too much about the one-time visitor. The higher paying slots tend to be in smaller casinos off the main Strip, like Suncoast, Green Valley Ranch, and Santa Fe Station. The Palms hotel has a reputation of having looser slots.
Learn slot playing basics, like always putting in the maximum coins. Stay away from slot machines in high-traffic parts of the casino, since they will almost never have good odds. If you see a machine that recently hit big, keep playing that machine, since it may have better odds. If a machine keeps losing, just move to another machine.

Well let me start off by saying I am not a slot player but a table game player, but I do have plenty of family members who play slots a lot. I would say the Palms. I believe they have been voted best locals casino in Vegas more than a few times and if you are into MegaBucks, I believe that jackpot has been hit there more than any other casino in history. Also, the Palms does have a large selection of penny games. If you just want a nice casino where you can just throw in a few bucks and get some nice free drinks, I would say Palazzo. I hate saying this because I've never been very lucky at Venetian/Palazzo resorts but I've always found if I am down a few grand and just want to throw a $5 bill into the bar VP machine, I can get at least two free drinks. I also dislike the smell of Venetian/Palazzo resorts but that's just me. You'll find that places like Wynn/Encore and Bellagio won't really respect your slot play until you leave Vegas. Good luck getting free cigs at these places and drink service for slot players can be slow at times. Although, these casinos like to throw free room offers at slot players to get them to come back. Enjoy your trip to Vegas!

Without a doubt .... Las Vegas.
I was in Las Vegas about 3 weeks ago on vacation. We had alot of luck on the slot machines at the MGM Grand, NY NY and the Bellagio. Its just a chance you have to take.
My mom won enough money on the slot machines at NY NY to cover her trip to Vegas! How 'bout that?
