That divorce rates in Greece have more than doubled in the last 15 years.
191 divorces per 1,000 marriages in 2002.

That's 20% or 1 in 5 marriages. What is causing all these divorces. In US it's 52%. Meaning HALF the marriages lead in divorce! What is happening to our societtyyyy?? :(

OK,I need to have an issue explained by the locals since it bothers me for long now:
I've been to Athens a few times in passing. My everyday contact with the locals was not memorable, to say the least. The taxi drivers overinflated their prices to me, they would not point the hotel I was looking for,(which was only one block away),and were inconsiderate. The bus money collector (ispractoras) was rude and aggravated with a simple question we asked. Cashiers in Acropolis did not bother to explain they were closing in 30 minutes after we bought the tickets, even the person on the kiosk outside Acropolis was rude, trying to sell warm water! And so on..
I am thinking if this is the image we show to the tourists, it 'd be a shame if they form the wrong idea of Greeks and Greece. Was the attitude I saw there the rule or the exception?
What in your opinion should be done to ease this problem?
And what is done so far about it?
Thank you

Regarding to some Q/A in Y I have the impression that some persons may ask their digital “friends” to …vote them!! How else to explain 15-25 thumbs up!!!!!????? about a silly answer to an incurious question? What does this mean for this person? (except of the fact that this person is or …acts like Greek:))))

Is it nice to have knowledge, diplomas, prestige in your fields of studies, recognition abroad, and then you fight for your daily bread and are kicked around by bosses and society? At this time and age, when we have abundance, why people should suffer?

I'm interested in visiting Athens, but I'm a little concerned about safety? How safe would it be for a 17 year old, British male? I take the usual precautions and obviously don't go looking for trouble, I keep myself to myself. I dunno if dress would be an issue, I wear tight jeans, fairly bright t shirts, etc, this can sometimes cause a problem with "chavs" in the UK who are looking for trouble. Is this a concern in Athens, and Greece in general?

Thanks

Hi People. I Was Watching A Show That Day In India Perhaps The 1st Or 2nd Of December Or 30th Of November On Travel & Living Channel. It Mentioned An Island Whose Name I Could Not Find As The Electricity Was On The Blink. It Mentioned A Village Chora/ Hora Something. A Peaceful Village Where You Can Walk From Lane To Lane Easily On The Crooked Pavements. Anyways, It Mentioned A New Hotel With A Pool Overlooking The Sea And A Church In Which Couples Usually Hang Out. I Checked Everywhere On The Net But I Have Only Fragmented Information. Some Sources Say That It Is On The Kamari Islands The Resort I'm Searching For But Some Say On This Anafi Chora Thing. What I Know For Sure Is That It's Somewhere In The Cyclades Islands.

Thanks Again.
Babemagnetz.

Are they two different places, Or are they both just the Greek version and the English version of the same place. Like Rodos and Rhodes, or Kriti and Crete.
Are they two different places or one place?

Thanks! :o)
