Regarding to some Q/A in Y I have the impression that some persons may ask their digital “friends” to …vote them!! How else to explain 15-25 thumbs up!!!!!????? about a silly answer to an incurious question? What does this mean for this person? (except of the fact that this person is or …acts like Greek:))))

I would appreciate if you leave personal comments (I am not interested at all and you know it) about… whatever… you think…about who you are or … whatever you think about “the others”… and simply answer this question. Competing for the best answer with … thumbs up/down is obviously ridicules for people at that age!

I’ve never thought of… all these ouaou irrelevant answers to my question.
Little miss…something sorry for not reading your answer, I give you one thumb down (don’t worry I will not send e-mail to “digital friends” and ask them to make the same to, sleep well lol)

My kid’s mum “thumbs down in an educated answer to a question” means lack of respect in my opinion. I don’t think, “Thumbs up means that someone is "approved" by others”. I think it means that this person wants to make other people think so!

I guess it means that someone is "approved" by others, kinda the seal of approval for that person...:-)
On the same note, you can also count the "thumbs down" in an educated answer to a question, if someone is not approved, regardless if the answer makes sense....
PS: just wait and see how many thumbs up or down I get now

As you know, Greeks are very very opinionated. This is a proven fact....get 2 Greeks together and u have an argument!! And so it is only natural that in this section you see a lot of thumbs, either up or down. But I do not think that people ask for votes. Who would stoop so low? Unless your name is Papandreou or Karamanlis.....

No one is asking fot votes. Besides, thumbs up and down don't matter and if people give them to their digital friends, as you said, is just to show approval of what they say.
If you really want to see who asks for or creates votes, you must see who got tons of best answers all at once, since I became top answerer, in an anxious effort to "usurp" the Greek section top. It is characteristic that I was around that number of best answers since months ago, and when I gradually reached the top, without any effort in that direction, I received comments and enmity.

I have actually been wondering about the same thing. It's not only thumbs up though. It's also thumbs down for just saying something simple, like your favourite coulour...

I think certain people like certain people, and that's how it works.

If you really need an honest answer, take into consideration these facts:
1. For longer than one week a certain person who doesn't partecipate any longer, as many of us, in this section, had been the target of trolls (Chris, Socrates, Pongos etc) "asking" about his nationality, his private life, etc and involving also others, among which me.
Because of this massive attack, this person (me too) answered the "questions" and users of the international comunity, from the Philippines to Italy and France, Turkey included, speeded up to approve his answer, as a token of support, trust and respect.
Actually he got more than 30 thumbs up.
And then he left this section once more, as I and many others have done.
2. I would appreciate it if you asked the same question about an original (?) Greek user who "gets" more thumbs up than the number of Greek constant users, and in addition, at least 3 -10 best answers on daily basis, his answers not being of the genious kind.

Sometimes one must be objective, and keep his likes and dislikes aside, especially when the targeted person (s) is/are no more involved in this section, which became a private affair of a small number of real and fictional "users".

the tension has calmed down, you still push things.I dont know to whom you are refering, but as you can see we are not top contributors, or maybe those who were are not anymore, because they left the section. The thumbs down are irrelevant to the votes...
And stop finally all of you the attack to everyone...
It started getting ridiculous..
Or at least speak openly with names..

I don't know, maybe you should ask him.I'm assuming you mean the one who became top contributor getting best answers for almost every answer he gave in the last few days even when they started with:"My limited knowledge on this subject.....".For God's sake, how more obvious could you get??

For as long as you ask and answer whatever and to whoever you wish, why do you really bother with who is getting thumbs up, heads down or legs stretched...!

Are you competing here or what?

Because if you do, you can get all my "stretch" points if you wish...Don't know what to do with them really...If you don't, would you mind give yours to Airpole? He seems so concerned :)
