I'd like to share a personal story about Saint Theodora.
After I'd had my first baby, 20 years ago, I developed a painful swelling in my armpit. My mother-in-law whisked me off to the doctors who prescribed me with some tablets. He informed me that if the tablets didn't work I'd need to be cut open to see what it was.
At the same time my mother-in-law went to Saint Theodora and asked her to make me better. Now I am not a particularly religious person and believe it was the tablets that got rid of the lump. On the other hand it did clear up pretty quickly and I have had great respect for this saint ever since that time. We always eat a piece of water melon on her feast day that my mother-in-law brings from Saint Theodora's cathedral.

Saint Spiridon in Corfu, and what is not well known, the headless body of Saint Theodora on the cathedral which is not that of Saint Spiridon. On her name-day a watermelon is used as head which is then distributed to the believers.

Hey, listen! (esp. for Carmelo.. who seems to be doing his "discharging" (airing his frustrations that is) on Yahoo! answers often!:Saint Nectarios is a very recent saint figure. He has proven with his actions and sacrifice and model living, that he was an exceptional being. In fact he was appreciated, (so typical of humans!), after his recent death .
