i talk to my cousin frequently and she says that she barely gets 4 hours of sleep everynight because she studies from the time she gets home until 2 or 3 am. she also says that ancient greek is the hardest subject. i know that ancient greek is an important part of our culture and i'm all about learning it but they should at least go easy on them. she also goes to a private school and she says that there they give them better grades just because they pay. shes like a solid 16-17 student and gets 19s. what's up with all that? what are ur opinions?

So being as this is my first Xmas away from home (I'm in China) I figured I would invite a bunch of friends over and have everyone cook a little something from their own country and bring it. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could make? I unfortunately have no oven and only the basics in my kitchen. Besides keftedes, tzatziki and greek salad, can anyone help me think of any other easily prepared foods?Any typical Greek desserts that don't require an oven?
I'm really craving sheftalies but I think that would be too hard to prepare!:) Thanks!

I made this short video of my trek in the Sumarian Gorge, Crete. When you view it ,it's like surfing up all the great views over an eight hour hike .

http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=1632606

Would you call this Surf-Hiking ?.

Maria Montessori said it. Do you agree? give me your peace sayings and your wish for the new year.
I think that this is the last time I'm writing in this section, so allow me to make a wish:
Let's find peace in our hearts and teach nations the beauty of peace.
Merry Xmas, Kala Hristougenna (Καλά Χριστούγεννα) to everyone!
Happy New Year!!!!!!

I have been repeatedly (even yesterday) mentioned and offended in this section by a small group of users who use even my real identity data in their questions/answers.
I have received numerous mails with offensive content, and I have been even "warned", before my personel (conferrence call) about my sister (Leonarda) being in "danger" upon found out in Rodos.
An ironic mail which has been my only justified reaction to these illegal actions, is now posted as a "question", by the person who even dared threaten my family.
My further reactions are to be decided, but in the meantime the question about the existance or not of privacy policy remains.

It seems a lot of the regulars don't like me answering questions (even if the last one was answered by my Greek husband and not me)
It seems there are a set of rules that one must adher to:
1. Be Greek (even though all other sections have other nationalities answering)
2.Never, ever say anything negative - no matter if you've experienced it
3. If you disagree with the 'mass' be prepared to be slaughtered or receive a personal attack.
4. It's ok to be Greek - American/Canadian/Australian etc (with no real life experience of Greece.
But you may not be another nationality who has lived/worked/married/ had children/ paid taxes/ employed locals/ been in hospitals/worked in schools/ started a business/sending children to Dimotiko etc etc
It seems you have more right to answer if you are a 17 yr old Greek- American (because it's a birth right lol) with no experience of life in Greece - or life in general!
What gives people the right to shame other users when they give their answer...
