So being as this is my first Xmas away from home (I'm in China) I figured I would invite a bunch of friends over and have everyone cook a little something from their own country and bring it. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could make? I unfortunately have no oven and only the basics in my kitchen. Besides keftedes, tzatziki and greek salad, can anyone help me think of any other easily prepared foods?Any typical Greek desserts that don't require an oven?
I'm really craving sheftalies but I think that would be too hard to prepare!:) Thanks!

Sweet - the easiest - strained yoghurt and honey. (to give it a little extra Christmas feel - sprinkle with chopped walnuts and currents/sultanas.
or you could try making halvas (in a pan you'll need sugar - olive oil and semolina etc)

A dish that my mother in law likes at Christmas is pork and celery - oilive oil - fry spring onions chopped - add pork - fry - add chicken stock to cover - lower heat cook slowly till tender- needs a few hours (I do it in the pressure cooker to save time) - about 30 mins before cooking ends add chopped celery and dill. season (you can add avgolemono or eat as is.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aNHQP

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

I really don't know how to answer this, because every Christmas and Thanksgiving Day in LA my family kinda
forgets that we are Greek and we do the unthinkable and
we serve Turkey and all the "fixins". But at least the bird
is dead and well cooked. So that has to count for something.

the appetizer skordia / it's garlic mashed potatoes served cold as a spread on nice fresh bread is good. there is a greek lasagna ... sorry can't think of what it's called , but it is easily prepared before hand. buy it ready made and just warm it in the microwave. agvolemo soup is good and can be heated by stove top.

typical greek desserts. buy baklava. also the creme custard is just something you keep refridgerated.
