Hi People. I Was Watching A Show That Day In India Perhaps The 1st Or 2nd Of December Or 30th Of November On Travel & Living Channel. It Mentioned An Island Whose Name I Could Not Find As The Electricity Was On The Blink. It Mentioned A Village Chora/ Hora Something. A Peaceful Village Where You Can Walk From Lane To Lane Easily On The Crooked Pavements. Anyways, It Mentioned A New Hotel With A Pool Overlooking The Sea And A Church In Which Couples Usually Hang Out. I Checked Everywhere On The Net But I Have Only Fragmented Information. Some Sources Say That It Is On The Kamari Islands The Resort I'm Searching For But Some Say On This Anafi Chora Thing. What I Know For Sure Is That It's Somewhere In The Cyclades Islands.

Thanks Again.
Babemagnetz.

By the way Hora means town in Greek, and all the Cycladic islands have a chora/hora.

Its going to be pretty difficult to work out which island in the Cyclades you are looking for.

Most of the Cyclades islands have towns called Chora ( Hora ), so that doesn't help when narrowing down the search. Most of the Cyclades islands have many white churches all around them. However, you mention a peaceful village, and for some reason, I get the impression that the island may be one of the less popular Cyclades Islands ( sometimes refered to as the small Cyclades. )

If you have a look at the following page ... http://www.aroundgreece.com/cyclades-islands.html you will find information about all of the islands in the Cyclades. Maybe looking at the names of them might jog your memory or at least help narrow the search down a little.

Hope this helps.

All the islands of the Cyclades are beautiful, with nice crooked pavements. The main town in all of them is called Chora, but often it has a name of its own too. Kamari that you mentioned is a town in Santorini. Anafi is a small island near Santorini, and it has a Chora, but as I said most islands do. The church of Paraportiani on Myconos is the most famous and picturesque church.
The bottom line is: the info you are giving is not enough to locate it, but whichever island you choose to go to, you won't be disappointed. You will find this setting in all of them.

You have found TM,eary 70's people that left this island told other people to ask for me when they arrived for places to sleep, eat ,harbour or the sandy beaches on MYKONOS.It is a wonderful thing to be asked again.CHORA called Chora by the locals,it is a typical cycladic village built amphitheatrically. It has whitewashed cubic houses with wooden coloured doors, windows and balconies, narrow streets forming a labyrinth, beautiful churches, lovely chapels and purple bougainvilleas contrasting with the white of the building's walls. It is sometimes called HORA instead of CHORA.Petros the Pelican wanders the harbour and promenade on the front.Mykonos would not servive without Petros so he lives somehow.....The Change of Mykonos.....The islanders, hippies and travellers lived together on an easy going day to day problem free baron island.Lovely cafes and restaurants were you could walk into the kitchens and select the food you wanted and then be looked after with a glass of wine for starters. There were a few bars and clubs and no trouble. The change seemed to start when a musical finished and everyone seems to go on holiday to Mykonos. Now Mykonos is a commercial place ,I am glad to have seen it nearly as it was.Mykonos my Heaven at the time.......sgd
