Ok, This spring, I am going to Canada for the first time. I am going to Golden, BC. There are 2 airports that my friend says he can pick me up at. Calgary and Edmonton, however, the prices are around $600-$700+ I can't exactly afford that. I was thinking maybe I could fly into Spokane, WA (or another closer to the border). How far is Spokane from the border, and are you allowed the cross the border by something other than an plane (car, foot)? And do you have to pay to cross the border?! Also, how long does it take to get a passport?!

I know this might be a long shot but I thought I would give it a shot. We’re a construction management firm from Minnesota that is currently in need of a steel erector in Ontario. If anyone is, or knows of any reputable firms please leave me the contact information.

I was talking to my cousin who lives in Toronto on the phone and she said they have no snow there yet, but it's very cold! I thought they would have got what was left of that huge snow storm that just went through the midwest.

What about the rest of Canada? Any snow yet where you are?

I am Canadian and I would like to know if I can give my friend (who lives in the US) my old furniture. I can drive it across the border but I want to know if I have to pay any tax, or does she have to come and pick it up at the border from me. Thanks for your help.

I am from Eastern Canada, and I've met many people visiting Canada from the States and I can't believe that they are surprised that we don't live in igloos, have pet beavers, and that it snows all year round. Prince Edward Island, located in eastern Canada has beaches that are nationally ranked as some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I'm not at all angry or anything about the stereotypes, I'm just curious anout why people believe them.

I am going to Canada for Christmas and want to bring some delicious cheese from England. The cheesemonger said I would have no problems at customs, but I'd like to know if anyone else here has brought dairy products into Canada, or knows exactly what the rules are.
