Ottawa is better for anglophones, but the job market is better in Montreal. Ottawa is mainly a government town and is quite a bit smaller than Montreal. The crime rate is lower in Ottawa, but it doesn't have much of a nightlife. I'd visit both and decide for yourself.

Ottawa. I stay on the breaking point of Toronto. Been to Montreal. both impressive cities to visit, yet i does no longer pick to stay in both (too huge). Ottawa is smaller, so as which will be my determination. also, I such as Ottawa extra. Ottawa is on the breaking point of the border of Quebec (purely throughout the time of the river), so that you would possibly want to earnings from the finest of the provincial differences!

If I had to choose, I'd go for Ottawa. Less traffic, better looking city in general. But that's me. People who enjoy nightlife and partying will probably prefer Montreal.

Choosing where to live is really a personal choice. I would also suggest you visit both cities to make your decision.

Montreal is better. It's got everything. It's a little France. Ottawa's not much stuff to see.

Ottawa is more quiet, more of a government/college sort of feel, and very beautifully gardened.

Montreal is a dynamic, cosmopolitan place, with ethnic variety (not just French!), nightlife, culture, and a vibrancy Ottawa lacks.
