I've been reading in some different places that in Melbourne, there is some strange rule about needing to turn and cross over a Tram track. Could someone explain what you are mean't to do. I think some people call it a 'hook right' turn or something like that. I am going there in the next few months and don't really wanna get in a crash, so if anyone can please explain, what the rules are would be great. Thanks.

I’m planning to go to Australia (and possibly New Zealand) for a few months, and want to know what would be the best place to go to or spend most of my time in to get an authentic Australian (NZ) visit. What are some places – cities or specific institutions, anything – that I shouldn’t miss? Are there any places that are overrated, and either shouldn't be included or just shouldn't be at the top of my list?

I'm planning to study at the uni of melbourne next year and would like to know what it's like there. Also, as you can guess, money is an issue and i'd like to know more about the cost of living there and way of life in melbourne.

Also, what is it like in melbourne in general?
Weather-wise?
Is it easy to get a job as an undergrad?
What kind of jobs are usually available and what's the pay range?
What can one do for entertainment in melbourne and does it come cheap?
What do students usually do during the summer holidays or the mid-semsmtral breaks?
Anything in particular that any australians can recommend for an international student coming over to study?

thanks.

I'm wondering about the rates of sydney hotels. I have heard that the hotels there are more expensive than any other cities in Australia? Is it true? Why?
