I am an aussie and proud of it. No wonder Australia is called the lucky country. We have great people and invite a wide diverse range of imigrants to australia. If you are going to be arrested and locked up, Australiais the place to do it, you get good treatment, which is more than I can say for other countries.
Other countries say we have a wierd accent, which is ok, but other countries sound like they have a weird accent to us aussies.
Aussies are great mate, just pop round, and we'll throw some snags on the barby for ya and crack open some stubbies and have a real chin wag, so come on, where the bloody hell are ya?

I used to live in Australia. The Aussies are nice, it's like they have a British accent, but it's not British. I lived in the Northern Territory, so I don't know about the other places. Watch out for aboriginals, they do weird stuff. They live in the wild and they eat weird things and go to the bathroom in the middle of the park! They run around naked! It's gross.

They're very nice and intelligent, but many have a white superiority complex that's very subtle.
That's what I found when I visited.
BTW, it's only the REAL country people that have those brawling accents. Like, 90% of the people there I met had indistinguishable British accents. Very few sound like Steve Irwin.
*Kuriyama, you've probably never left Sydney, Brisbane or Perth, wherever you're from, but if you've ever been 5 miles outside of any of those cities, you start running into the people with real country, brawling accents like Irwin. While many in the big cities are polished, it's not so in the Outback. Just telling it like it is.

We visited Australia a couple of years ago and loved it.
One of the reasons is because of the people.
We found Aussies to be friendly and helpful as well as hospitable.
Even with the different but nice accent, we can communicate pretty well.

oh my... aussies can get on my nerves sometimes. you see, they always love to go to my country. they're bloody everywhere. i'm not saying that they're bad people. they are generally a lot of nice australians out there! but what bothers me is that they're everywhere here in indonesia. what drives me mad/crazy is that there will always be one behind my back with that funny accent they have...
