I will be studying computer science for two years starting from july 2006 and I am ready to do any kind of job which will help me cover my living expenses (20 hours a week). Some people say that it is difficult to find a job in melbourne and I am really scared.

Please provide me with some information about student jobs in Melbourne. you can also use my email address alem_traveller@yahoo.com. thank you in advance.

Coming to AUS in Sep(SYD&MEL). Booked holiday apartment in South Yarra(MEL)- is that a good area to be in, e.g. is it safe at night? Originally wanted to stay in St Kilda, but S Yarra worked out cheaper in the end ( for a good reason?). Obviously we read up on it before we booked, but I'd still appreciate any local knowledge you could share with me.
Also, whilst in Sydney we're staying in Manly. Only heard good stuff about it. Anyone disagree?
....and what are the chances of finding a huntsman(or one of the other creepy crawlers you've got) in our apartments? Not too keen on spiders... :( But I'm willing to risk encounters, not going to miss out on seeing Australia because of some 8-legged monsters!

I've long dreamed of hitting the road, caravan attached and kids in the back and exploring Australia.

One thing that holds me back is the kids education. I know that lots of people do the big trip. But how do they manage the kids education?

My kids are 9 and 8 at the moment.

I would love to hear from anyone who has done this before.

He moved to the Melbourne area around 15 years ago, but has since changed his name to something Greek, as he married a Greek girl.
I'd just love to catch up. Any clues?

I'm interested in a trip around Australia, and need to know how long it would take roughly driving all day, but not nights, then can adjust that answer to days off etc! Thanks!

One of my work colleagues is going to emergrate to Australia in a weeks time. We should have about £50 to spend and we are conscious that he isn't going to want anything that will take up space and be difficult to take on the plane. He is a fan of surfing and wondered whether there are any popular shops in Sydney that sell vouchers online which we could buy beforehand and then present to him next week? Anyone got any ideas?
