I'm an American, and I think of the Outback and Aborignies (did I spell that right?). I also think of the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Opera House, koalas, eucalyptus and opals. :)

I had a pen pal from Australia when I was in elementary school... I've been dying to visit ever since. My mother has been. {sigh} My chance will come eventually. Everything I've seen and everything I've heard about the people is positive. I can't wait to go. Heck, I'd love to own a property there....

I think of desert and kangaroos and guys with big machetes and Foster's Lager. I think of the skyline of Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef, oh, and the tiny really nasty jelly fish off the north coast? Not sure. I think of Yahoo Serious and Quigley going down under. I think of Australian Rules Football and how much I want to visit there and New Zealand. Then, of course, I think it Koala Bears and kiwi fruit. That's how a Californian thinks of Australia. What to do you think of Cali?

As I have visited Gold Coast (in February 1996), Australia means paradise to me (LOL).

However, I do not know the other places in Australia as we were attending a convention and had to come back immediately without getting much time to see places. PS. saw Kangaroo and Ostrich and such animals in a guided tour. I have already forgotten the names of places though have got some beautiful pictures.

When I think of Australia, I think of the slang phrases I have heard of when I went there for a visit in 2001, most specially "G'day, mate!". I think of the times I felt it is such a safe place. I think of the long, wide roads that goes on for miles and miles, with no other cars in sight. I think of kangaroos. I think of the warmth of Australians, always having a ready smile to anyone new they meet. I think of Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and the nice white beach at Seal Rocks. I think of Forsters beer. I think of getting back again to such a SPLENDID place. :)

I really enjoyed our visit to Australia. The people were very friendly and helpful. We went to Sydney, Lizard Island, Brisbane, Cairns and the Rain Forest.

Kangaroo!
Also far, down under, kawala bear...
Hope to go back soon and also visit New Zealand.

natural beauty!!
Australia's biggest attraction is its natural beauty. The landscape varies from endless sunbaked horizons to dense tropical rainforest to chilly southern beaches. Scattered along the coasts, its cities blend a European enthusiasm for art and food with a laid-back love of sport and the outdoors.
