We loved Australia.
We landed at Brisbane mainly to go to the Lone Pine. Koala bear and kangaroo were really neat. The Casino was very nice. We walked around South Bank and enjoyed the Dream World and Sea World.
Then we went North of Cairns and were really blown away by the Rain Forest with the Wild Experience Tour on electric boat, jeep and walking in the forest. Of course, more kangaroo and crocodiles encounter, etc. at the Animal Habitat. I was the only one in the cold water of the billabong.
Next was the neatest flight on a little plane to Lizard Island. Wonderful set up and food! Snorkeling was fun with exciting experience on a little boat in the rough water. The best thing there was the private picnic on the beach! Flying over the Great Barrier Reefs was heavenly and the lizards on the ground added a "LITTLE" something to the whole trip.
Back to Cairns, we loved the day trip to the Cultural Center, Butterfly Sanctuary and Kuranda Scenic Railway ride back down to town.
Then we flew back from Sydney. The highlight in Sydney was the bridge walk. The Sydney harbor was just beautiful. We rode the ferry around for fun.
The special part about Australia was about the people. Australians were really nice and helpful. We love to go back soon.
I will post the pictures soon (future link below).

I was in Australia last year. I had a blast. I started in Sydney and headed up north to Coffs Harbour and over to Byron Bay (hippy central). Byron Bay is gorgous. Not commercialize and has got a really beautiful beach and views! went further up to Surfers Paradise, Fraser Island (HIGHLY RECOMMAND), Capricorn Coast, Whitsunday (ALSO RECOMMAND).... went to Brisbane, which was ok and also went to the Golden Coast. Rockhampton, nothing much there though.
From Whitsunday went to Cairns to take a connecting flight to Alice Springs. Saw Uluru and Kings Creek station and also up to Darwin. Overall few weeks was amazing! Alice Springs is ok, but if you;re into the desert and things like that it will be amazing. Glad I went, dont think i'd go back to that place. Next place Perth and Tasmania!

Me! Seven times. I live in New Zealand so it's only a 3 hour flight away.

Been to Queensland, Northern Territory, NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Next time I go I must go to WA and Tassie.

It's good - bit warmer than NZ, especially north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Lots of things to do, but beware - it is a BIG country and if you want to see lots, you'll spend lots of time travelling.

I was in Sydney only. Sydney is a beutiful city, but small in comparison to New York. The costs are low for Americans. The transit system is ok, Best to take taxis. Do not pronounce Bondi as (Bundy). It is pronounced "Bon-die". This irritates Australians. Best nightclub is Home, by Circular Quay. Great boutiques on Oxford Street.

I haven't yet but would really like to. It looks like a ruggedly beautiful place and after reading what some of the participants from Australia say here they sound like Ace Mates.
