i find this behaviour quite unnerving
this is especially true on market stalls. do they do this to fellow thais or just farangs?
do they not reralise that most people would be more likely to make a purchase if left to browse at leisure?

What was it like? Was it clean, did the aircon work, were the staff friendly? Is it really close to the beach, and is the pool big? Tell me everything please! (This is for our honeymoon, so we have to get the hotel right!)

We are trying to find the best hotel for our price range on Koh Samui. We would like to stay on Lamai Beach, or somewhere close to Chaweng. (We'd like to stay somewhere relatively quiet, but close to the busy touristy area.) We would like a hotel that is right on the beach, preferably with individual huts rather than in a room in a big hotel. We can afford around AU$70 a night, which is around 1775 baht a night.

Thanks for your help!

I'm planing a trip to Mae Hong Son from the 1st to the 4th of March.
Could someone recommend me a nice and romantic place where I could stay 3 nights with my girlfriend? I wouldn't like to pay more than 1500THB per night.
Thank you for any advice and experiences!

I was thinking maybe I should just spend my time elsewhere on my short trip but I need the real story about the place.

This would at least seem to work to cool off the currency speculators for a while.
Malaysia pegged the Ringgit at 3.8/dollar for several years with pretty good results.
