Many, through the foreigners who go there just to have sex. Many Thais are uninitiated about AIDS, and it is usually the foreign visitors who bring the disease to them.

searching before you ask helps.

My reply to THE EXACT SAME QUESTION a week ago:

about 1% of the population of thailand is HIV positive or has AIDs. The numbers were skyrocketing for a while, but awareness and the governments willingness to subsidize the medications has greatly reduced the spead of HIV in thailand. Sadly though, about 600,000 people are infected with HIV in Thailand, with a population of about 65M, that's about 1 in 100

To put it in perspective, by estimations there are about 1,000,000 cases of HIV in the US with an estimated population of about 295M. That's about 3 in 1000

Oddly enough the other nipplehead that said ppl instead of people and got instead of have, is also is a member from the exact same day you are, coincidence? Not likely.

Unfortunately a lot (especially in the sex "Industry") but it's impossible to quote an exact No. Many people here are still not 100% aware what AIDS is really all about.
