What was it like? Was it clean, did the aircon work, were the staff friendly? Is it really close to the beach, and is the pool big? Tell me everything please! (This is for our honeymoon, so we have to get the hotel right!)

We are trying to find the best hotel for our price range on Koh Samui. We would like to stay on Lamai Beach, or somewhere close to Chaweng. (We'd like to stay somewhere relatively quiet, but close to the busy touristy area.) We would like a hotel that is right on the beach, preferably with individual huts rather than in a room in a big hotel. We can afford around AU$70 a night, which is around 1775 baht a night.

Thanks for your help!

I havent stayed in that resort before but I did stayed in Lamai for a month couple years back at a place called 'new hut' its a backpackers place and its very cheap, around 250 baht per night(without air con) and they have individual huts as well it was a really nice place, food is great as well and the people there are very friendly too, cheers

I just return from there. The rooms are clean, the a/c worked, the staff is very friendly and love kids. it is close to the beach only about 25 meters. Are rooms were 2200 baht a night for the 2500 baht room, just tell them you were told you would get a discount. But don't stay in the 1700 baht ocean view rooms, it is small no TV and bathroom sucks. The pool is average size not to big nor small. Also the weather now really sucks in Samui, cloudy all day with high winds and high waves. The area is quiet nothing like Chaweng a short walk you will see some bars shops and restaurants.

there are various coastline lodges in koh samui. yet for honeymoon, i want to advise you to Bang Rak coastline. "Rak" in Thai is advise "Love". :) At Bang Rak coastline, i want to advise "Samui Pier coastline front motel", expenses from $37. loosen up on white sandy seashores, getting pampered with thai hospitality, together as sipping on cocktails observing the main appropriate sunset on Samui. only 5 minutes removed from the airport and ten minutes rigidity to the conventional Chaweng coastline, neighbour the widespread enormous Buddha Pier, the place you may capture a ship or ferry to Koh Phangan, Kho Tao, Angthong national Marine Park as nicely as all the different island allure. The motel promises their travellers with an array of amenities and centers alongside with diving, fishing, island excursions, finished moon occasion charters and island safaris. examine greater Koh Samui hotel comments at:

It's got a reasonable set of reviews at http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293918-d615283-Reviews-Sand_Sea_Resort_Spa-Ko_Samui.html - not the best though.
