With effect from Dec 2006, all Thailand mobile numbers require an additional number "8" to be added to the number to make it a 10-digit number. So calling the mobile number locally, you will need to dial 08 xxxx xxxx. If you are dialing the mobile number from overseas, you dial the country code and drop the "0" at the front of the mobile number as follows: +66 8 xxxx xxxx.

This only applies to mobile numbers. Numbers issued from Dec 2006 are all 10-digits already, the adjustment will be necessary for mobile numbers issued before Dec 2006.

Dial TO Thailand 011 - 66 - 8 - follow with the mobile #.

Mobile numbers in thailand begin with various numbers - i.e. 1 , 6 , 8, 9, 7.

If your calling from outside Thailand, you have to drop the 0 and put an 8 in front of the the first digit of the old #. for example, if you're calling phuket, it would be 011-66-878******.
