I'm a 22yo African American female and I wanted to take a trip to Japan and I wanted to know what to expect. I am aware that there aren't many blacks there and I might get stared at, but other than that, are the locals generally friendly towards black tourist?

i am planning a trip to tokyo, and i will be 18 when we go. its going to be me and a friend, no parents, which brings me to my problem. 18 is when im considered an adult in america of course, but in japan i'm not considered an adult until i'm 20 (i'm pretty sure of that). will i have problems in japan since i'm not going there with anybody over 20?

I used to love going to the arcades to play video games in my preteen years, but they seem to have died out over the last 10 years.

I'm thinking about going on a holiday to Japan given the good currency exchange rate, and I was wondering what are some good places I could visit in Japan with big or popular game arcades?

If you were forcibly deported from the nation that you live in, and were FORCED to go to another nation, where would you go? Assume that ALL NATIONS will take you, and you cannot choose Japan (since this is the Japan category :p)

Me and friends are planning a trip there this year. It is like the only common time we have. We heard the weather is hot during that time. We may have to change our travel plans if it is really not a good time.

And I don't mean the costume type stuff, but the cutesy fashionable, Westernized apparel. Their fashion seems to be similar to America, but more decadent.

Here is a link to the kind of fashion I am talking about:

I know this question has been asked before, but I never really payed attention before, (*sigh*) so now I must ask:
1. What are some good websites to watch Japanese movies and tv shows (dramas and things like that) for free?
2. What are some good dramas and movies that you would reccommend? (I recently already watched Water Boys 2 and the TV drama of Densha Otoko)

Traveling to Japan and was just wondering if the reception is warm to black guys there? Not trying to speculate here...just curious if the women will be friendly or will they be intimidated by us? Maybe the media or bad experience...just trying to get an idea.I'm very nice and friendly and I would love to mingle with the locals. Thanks

Out of all 10 possible names, Keiko, Hana, and Aki all got the highest amount of votes. for people who already answered the question "Which one of these Japanese names do you like best?", please DO NOT answer this question. Again here are the names you have to choose from.

Why is OK for foreign distance runners to compete for Japanese high school track clubs, but yet as far as I know you have to be Japanese to play HS baseball? If a Kenyan kid can run in the Hakone Ekiden, shouldn't a kid from the Dominican Republic be allowed to pitch at Koshien? I'm just asking for consistency from sport to sport.
