Hello. I'm doing research on street gangs in Japan that aren't Yakuza-related. What famous biker-gangs come from Japan besides the "Black Emporers"? Please let me know. Thank you. :D

Strictly speaking, the biker-gangs have something related with yakuza activities. Some of them belong to the bottom of yakuza organization, and they become a punk of yakuza when they retire school.

Black Emperor was the most famous biker-gang in 1970's. If you can read Japanse, this may help you.

In addition, Matsudo Spector was big one in my memory but isn't listed there.

Bozozuku aren't particularly organized except that they flock together to ride. So it's difficult to say what the famous groups are-they come and go, they form alliances and then fall out with each other. They're mostly kids and most of them eventually grow out of being bozozuku. A small minority might end up with actual organized crime. So old groups die out, and new groups appear all the time. Hell's Angels or Bandidos, they are not.

Bozozuku are kind of passe these days, it's Shinjuku teamers who seem to get the attention lately. I don't know if you could call teamers street gangs, since they don't really cause much trouble. I guess they would be more like mall rats than gangs.

The "Broken Chopstick Gang"!
Just kidding.
Might want to ask a service man or women who is stationed there.Or your local recruiter who has been there.

If you just want non-yakuza groups, perhaps you may want to research the Aum Shinrikyo. They are a famous Japanese cult:
