If I'm going to a Japanese wedding I've been told that I should take cash as a gift, and that it should be new and folded. Is this right? I've also been told that bride and groom are supposed to reciprocate your gift - and that they will give you something to the value of about a third of your gift. Is this true? If so, do they give cash or a gift? And at the wedding, or later?

I'm talking about the NATION, then what kind of person would Japan be?

First, male or female (and why)?
Then, personality traits (good and bad, if you can think of both)?
Any other attributes?

You can dress him/her, too if you want! I think this should be fun and interesting...

Prosecutors get beheading case
A 17-year-old teenager arrested on suspicion of killing and beheading his mother in Fukushima Prefecture was sent to prosecutors Wednesday after evidence was found in his apartment suggesting the murder was premeditated, investigators said.

The woman's dismembered body was found Tuesday on a futon in his apartment in Aizuwakamatsu after the teen showed up at a local police station with the head and said he had killed his mother. A kitchen knife was found near the body.

Although earlier reports said the knife was believed used both to kill the victim and behead her, the youth later told police he purchased a handsaw before the murder, police said.
The investigation so far has found that the youth spent several hours at an Internet cafe — carrying his mom's head in a bag — before taking a taxi to the police station Tuesday morning to turn himself in.

Hey! I am currently 8 wks. pregnant and living in LA right now. I have a good friend in Japan who has invited me to stay with her throughtout the pregnancy and I am seriously considering it. My boyfriend is in China right now (that's where we met). You may be wondering why I don't go to China, but I've lived there and I feel that my time was up there. I love my boyfriend but this would also give me an opportunity to see Japan. I would also be closer to my boyfriend by being in Japan as opposed to LA. What do you think about the healthcare in Japan? Do you think this is a smart move? Honesty is appreciated. Thanks!

There's a scene in the movie where Charlotte is walking alone in Kyoto, and she walks up to a tree that appears to be covered in white papers.

She wraps a piece around a branch and walks away.

Does anyone know what that means?
My thought is that perhaps the tree is like a wishing well, and people are writing down their wishes or prayers and wrapping them to the branches.

Although it's likely that I'm wrong, because I know nothing of Japanese culture / landmarks.

I have a couple electronic pachinko machines, a Nishijin "Elfin" and a Daiichi "3-One-Model".

A friend says the knob will only work if the machines are hooked up to a cash machine. That enables a servo or stepper motor, which operates the ball-driving mechanism.

I see the connectors where the cash machine interfaces. My question is, is it a simple job of electrically tying some digital inputs high/low, or would I need to emulate a more complex communication protocol (i.e. "act like a cash machine") to get the knob to work?

Or is there some other way to enable the motor elsewhere on the circuit board. (I am an engineer, so you do not need to simplify the explanation)

Thanks in advance!

What is the most cost effective way to travel from Narita Airport to Tokyo?. I want to have a 2 day lay over in Narita but would like to travel to Tokyo.

If there is a train service to the city, that would be great. The last time I was in Tokyo, I took a bus service direct to the airport and it cost me US$30 for a 1 way trip.

Any directions related to the train service will be much appreciated.
