Planning a week trip to Tokyo. What sites does it have to offer for an anime fan. I know I will have fun no matter what I do, I mean Japan, come on, but I want to get the most out of my trip. Any suggestions?

I was accepted into a Japanese credit abroad program for this summer and I will be spending 10 days with a family in Fukuoka during my trip. The problem is I want to bring gifts for the family, but I won't know the dynamics (mom, dad, children) of the family until I get there. What would be a few good ideas to bring them that would be acceptable if there were boys or girls or for the parents? Thanks for the help!

Japan are trying to over turn the international ban on whaling. But either way, they will continue whaling for 'scientific purposes'. Since when was eating whale science... Makes me dislike japan.

I am travelling to Japan for business this month. This trip is to coordinate a conference of medical doctors that will be held April of next year, and I will be meeting with many of the people I will be working with over the next 10 months to get this conference off the ground. I have never been to Japan before, but I know that there is a lot of ritual associated with business gifts -- what should I bring? Normally when I give business gifts, I try to give something relevant to the person's character, or something that is particular to my geography (San Francisco). For example, I know the person I've had the most contact with likes baseball, so I got them a Daisuke Boston Red Sox shirt. But there are many more important people I will be meeting with that I have no idea about their background or interests.

Ok, I have a Japanese passport and my friends are coming to Japan with me, but do they have to have a japanese passport but have American passports. Do they have to have jaspanese passports as well? or can they just use there american passports. We are probably going to go on American AirLines and Japanese AirLines. Please answer my question and tell me other information if you know more!

I would also like a website where I can buy tickets (in English please). I'll be going to Japan in July (not sure exact date). Plus, is it worth going to a game when I'm visiting Tokyo for 4 days only? Thank you for your time and energy.

I want to teach english in Japan and i heard that it's hard for Indians to be 'accepted' in Japan.

Their is apparantly NO indians in Japan what so ever and they have no Sikh Temples and nowhere to buy indian clothes and food etc

And the apparantly hate our culture and hate our people.

I just wanted to know if all of this is true? And if they hate us then why?

I received an email from someone in Japan, very important to me, and I cannot read it.

When I open it, it is just crazy characters, that are not Japanese, they are just symbols.

Can anyone tell me how I can get this email to open with the proper Japanese text?

I'm graduating next year, and want to go to Japan to teach English for a year.
My freshman year I studied abroad in Japan for 2 1/2 months and loved every minute of it. I stayed in a smaller city during that time which was amazing, but this time around I want to experience the city life in Tokyo. I've heard that JET often places you in small rural communites (which I don't want), but I'm not sure if this is true or not. In your experience, what company is the best with regaurds to placing, pay, work hours (less is better), and vacation--or just in general, which are the better companies, and which ones should I avoid? Thanks!

I will be traveling to Japan for the first time soon, and I am not very familiar with airports to begin with, so I had a few questions. I will be traveling to Narita International Airport, Terminal 1.

1. When I first get off of the plane, where do I go? Is the first place Customs, or do I get my luggage first?

2. If someone is meeting me at the airport, will I be able to see the person as soon as I get off of the plane? Or will I have to go through Security/Customs first?

3. At the Customs section, what exactly happens? Will my luggage be searched?

Well, thank you in advance!
