It makes me laugh when I see those videos of the Japanese gangster rappers. They are legit, for real OG's.

Millions of yen are being dropped off mailboxes in Japan. I think a modern Japanese Robin Hood is making his rounds. I wonder who he is. Good job to you!

I am going to be an english teacher in japan and was wondering if AEON is a good company to go with. I also wanted to know if they pay well enough to save some cash or if I would be living check to check.

I am in Tokyo to videotape a project. A lot of the scenes would involve filming in public, with innocent passer-byes likely ending up in a lot of the shots. I've been trying to research filming laws in Japan, but so far have turned up nothing, besides that the director of Babel filmed in Tokyo without a permit, and the cops chased him away from some locations. My project is a lot smaller, involving about four or five people all together. What are the laws about filming like this?

I have been checking out customs web pages for Japan and have seen the customs declaration forms that have to be filled out, but no where can I find a listing of medications and supplements that Japan allows a tourist to bring with them into the country. I'm due to visit in September and need to know.

I'm really tired of this place. No offense America, I'm just sick of it and want a change of scenery. (I live in LA....)
So I was just wondering all the things I would have to do to move as far from here as possible.

An old friend and I are interested in touring Iwo Jima and possibly Sagion (HCMC). There appears to be a pretty good airfield on the island.

15 years ago my father lived in Japan for a year, and now he want's to go back on Holiday next year. As he was out there working, he didn't really visit that many places, and obviously a lot will have changed. He lived near Mt. Fuji, so didn't travel too far from there. Where are good places to visit across Japan? and where, if anywhere, should we avoid?

I'm thinking of signing up with Nova to go teach in Japan..
Has anyone here taught in Japan through this company or a similar one?

What should I expect?

Do you find that it's all teaching & you don't have time for anything else?

Is it fun, or do you end up depressed & lonely?

& if you've gone through Nova, what's the interview process like?

Is there anyone here who can tell me everything about their experience??

I have a two weeks vacation so I want to spend it in Japan but I don't know how long the flight is to go.

Alright, so I've thought about applying to Nova. I know, it's not exactly the best job in the world, but I'm doing this because I don't plan to stay long with them. I'll be living there in Japan under a spousal visa and my questions are:

1. Does Nova conduct interviews if I already live in Japan?
2. After you leave, how long before you can re-apply to work there?
3. How many holidays (vacation days) do you get? Do they roll over into the next year or do you HAVE to use them or else?

Yes, I realize NOVA stinks, they overwork the teachers, yadda yadda, but again, I don't think I'm going to stay more than 2 years on that job because my fiance and I plan to have children and I'd like to stay home and raise my son/daughter until he's able to go to school. Then, I will shoot for a better job.
My husband believes I can get a better teaching job since I am certified to teach, my university degree is in Education and I've taught for 3 years. I hope so
Thanks for your help, folks.

I swear, I ate a lot of raw food and never once got sick in the 6 months I was there. I DIDN'T eat the chicken (torisashimi I think) or the pork but a lot of beef, horse and fish.
