I have a two weeks vacation so I want to spend it in Japan but I don't know how long the flight is to go.

well, it doesnt matter whether your in first class or economy class, but wateva. it takes about 13 hrs from DC to tokyo, so at least 8 hrs from CA

Cali to Tokyo is about 10-11 hrs. Tokyo to Cali is about 8-9 hrs. Changes because Cali to Tokyo is moving against the wind. Of course these times will differ depending on where in California you're talking about. Obviously if it's not a direct flight it'll take longer. The above approximate is LA to Tokyo direct. I think Frisco to Tokyo is about the same as well. Ah Ami san, I stand to be corrected. She is right of course. Just because it is called a "direct flight" doesn't mean it won't stop at different locations on the way. Which of course will take more time than a non-stop.

The actual flight time is about 11 hours. Depending on security issues, delays, cancellations, weather issues and whatnot you will probably spend between 13 - 15 hours in transit.
Don't forget to pack your travel kit!

Same as the economy class flight around 9.5 to 10.5 hours depending on the weather conditions. :-)

Its a little faster than business class and even faster than economy class...and I'm pretty sure its about the same to come back.
