I do not want to open a bank account or something complicated, just want to buy the phone and feed it with prepaid cards. Is that possible or do I have to go through any paperwork?

You just need to show your alien registration card when you buy the phone. Make sure it has the correct postal address on it! There may be some paperwork but there's no contract or anything. Even if you get a contract phone where you pay a fee and for calls each month, you don't need a bank account - just say you will pay at the convenience stores each month.

Yes, just get a prepaid phone with whatever address is on your gaikokujin torokusho. If a particular 7-11 tells you they don't sell phones to foreigners or some such crap, there are about 100000 other convience stores in Japan.

You need alien registration card to purchase cells, including prepaid phone, in Jpaan.

If you are coming to Japan, you maybe able to purchase with your passport at airport. But not in the city.

suitable now i exploit the Sony Ericcsonn. i certainly hate it. The audio device are undesirable and it sounds undesirable once you play ringtones or music on it. inspite of the undeniable fact that it does have and MP3 participant with music already downloaded from the guy i offered it from. i certainly want the LG Vu or Propel. i'm saving up my moneyy!! :]
