lol...I went to Japan last summer with older friends and was 18. I went clubbing in Roppongi, went to an upper-class bar, went to an underground concert, and drank at each spot and never really worried. The owners of the clubs and bars don't check, at least they didn't check me especially since they knew I wasn't a Japan-breed Japanese (hearing my English with my friends, even though I spoke Japanese to them). They generally trust that you will be honest about your age, that is why they put cigarette vending machines and beer vending machines around. Most anyone can get away with being underage and drinking as long as you act like it's normal. Cops don't bust the professional looking businesses either, so if you head to a popular club or bar guarantee you'll be safe.

Oh yeah, and so answer your other question the legal age for clubbing and drinking is 20, because you need to be an adult to do those things, but high school kids (especially girls) sometimes go clubbing anyway.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the place where over 13 million people live, making it one of the most populous cities in the world but also, a big city to visit, find out more with hotelbye . Most of the city was devastated by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, and then again by the bombing in the WWII, however, Tokyo was able to achieve a remarkably rapid recovery both times. The main attraction of Tokyo is the Imperial Palace with its beautiful 17th-century parks surrounded by walls and moats. The palace is still in use by the Imperial family.

They couldn't care less if you are 20 or not-19 should be fine.
There are plenty of clubs in Tokyo that serve alcohol where 19 year olds might be among the older customers.

It has been a number of years since I went to clubs in Japan, but I recall the biggest problem is that many don't want foreigners. In others, there can be hidden costs (for flowers on the table, a good location, snacks, etc.). I also recall seeing people with teenaged children in the clubs (but not drinking), so I suspect you should have no problems in that regard. If you go with a Japanese friend (business person, perferred), this will help.

You have to be 20...
Even if they find you in a club and you are underage they can still arrest you.
it think its better to just follow the law than to get yourself arrested in a foreign country...

I was in Roppongi one night and they never check your age! So don't worry about it, it's all business up there.
