Air Travel

I'm leaving for the Philippines on December 13th, 2006. I've checked both Unitied Airlines & Philippines Airlines Websites, but I''m still so confused about the measurements for Carry-On Luggage! They make no sense to me.

They all say this: 9" x 14" x 22"

What does that mean exactly? Is 9" the width? 14" the height? And 22" the length???

The dimensions of the bag I'm considering for carry-on is:

Length: 19" inches. Height: 12" inches. Width: 7" inches.

It's like a duffel bag almost, but a bit more square. Will this be okay? I don't want to get to the airport and then have to check my carry-on bag underneath, it's going to be a 25 hour flight...

I will go from SJU (San Juan) to YYZ (Toronto) with a connecting flight in ORD (Chicago). From SJU to ORD, I will fly with United Airlines and from ORD to YYZ with American Airlines. I was checking American's website a while ago and I noticed they had my full itinerary. I am pretty sure I should have to check in twice (and get my luggage in ORD too) but I was wondering if since they already know my itinerary, is it possible to only check in once at SJU and get both of my boarding passes? I don't really get how it all works as it will be my first time flying alone. Thank you.

Im very scared about flying. and its also my 1st time. but im gunna be flying 5 days after christmas. do u think there could be another terroritst attack on the flight??? ive been really scared about this. i aslo have heard that a terrorist was just arrested cause the US knows that he was gunna blow up a Mall somewhere in the US. so could this also mean that there COULD be terrorist on board a flight or not? and if there could be, how would they even be able to pass security?? please help me, im very scared!! thanx and God Bless!!

Does anyone know if all the current Emirates Boeing 777-300ER planes have this sort of lighting? I will be flying on this exact Emirates airplane next week.

im only flying from montana to nevada but i already know that it is going to be a long trip because im flying with my 16 month old daughter. I need help or advise on what to expect.
