Paying first class will not get the letter and if it does, it'll go as surface mail. Surface mail will take anything up to 3 months and the recipient will pay a surcharge for the privilege.

Speak to your local post office or visit http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400126&mediaId=17800253 to see if how much poistage to Germany is. Airmail will take less than a week.

I think it is officially between 2-4 days but in reality it would probably be more like a week onwards, thats if it doesn't get lost. royal mail have lost so many of my letters, and i posted something 1st class recorded recently (within the uk) and instead of getting there safely the next day it took THREE WEEKS. urgh!

If by airmail, around three to four days. If by surface post, at least a week - probably more!
