Do any of you guys know how Winnie Mandela got to own four million rands- worth of jewelery? We all know that it's not unusual for anything to get stolen in this country, but wouldn't it be nice to know why the same woman who is labeled "South Africa's mother" by some, owns jewelery amounting to this much whilst a large group of her supporters do not even have access to running water/ electricity/ proper medical care/ education. Is this the norm?

During a recent TV broadcast to support his denialist stance on crime Mbeki said " One can walk to the SABC studios in Auckland Park without fear of being mugged, robbed or attacked."
A News24 report on 24/7 reported that Jeff Koinange, a CNN journalist, and his wife were attacked and robbed by 4 criminals outside the SABC studios at Auckland Park on Saturday morning. They were robbed of personal items and TV equipment. Neither was injured.
I wonder if the CNN libby's and all the others will still believe the pathological liar Mbeki after this?

Why is it full of complaints about luxor, I found the people ok dont they know how to say no, ok every where has people trying to make a buck , we saw through these people the first day for instance we went out in the afternoon, ignoring what the chief tour guide said, don't trust an egyptian etc etc, he must of forgot to mention himself, being one. we hooked up with some Guy called Hamada or some name like that, very charmig, full of local knowledge, now butter would not melt in this guys mouth,
a guy came over , want a felluca want a boat you know how much to cross the Nile only five pounds , hamada broke in maybe again he said to the boy, and told us its only 1 le to go on the ferry.
now he has the hook in, cut the story, in the restaurant he had 2 beers ordered the most expensive meal, and had 30% commission from the owner, but still cheaper than the Itab, the boy we found out latter was his son, but for the most we found them to be o'k as soon as they say my friend walk

Hi, Can someone please advice me on a good bakery in Dubai?

My birthday is next month and I want a cake to be made to order, but from my previous experiences it comes no close to what it should have been like!

So please please if anybody knows a really good and I mean really "good" cake chefs, or bakery's or whatever (For really difficult and detailed cakes) please do tell me. It does not matter whether they are expensive or not. As long as they can make flowers and ribbons look like the real deal and not some chunks of square over a semi-round cake!

Thank you in advance.

South Africa has created a monument known as 'Freedom Park'. It is basically a monument commemorating the names of people that gave their lives for the anti-apartheid 'struggle', and 'freeing' South Africa.
Included amongst the 68 000 names are the names of Cuban soldiers that apparently gave their lives for the cause of freedom.
Think about that for a second: The Cubans died for freedom.
Seldom have I encountered such evil hypocrisy. How is it possible for inmates from Castro's island penal colony known as Cuba to have fought for freedom when they are prisoners themselves?

Kind of puts in perspective how free the New South Africa is.

i have a personal friend that lives in Egypt. when we talk, i use my Cell phone to call to Egypt. But recently, i found that the calls i've made, are VERY expensive.
Can i use a Pre-paid phone card instead, but still using my cell phone?
oh, public phones are not an option for me.
Thanks
What i'm trying to avoid is my friend's number, NOT showing up on the monthly bill. I don't want their number to show up on the monthly bill on my cell phone, if i do use a pre-paid phone card.
will this work??? or can i use my house phone, and use the pre-paid calling card, but not have their number show up on the montly house phone bill. will this work??
Please help me! thank you.

Well,
I was in Dubai one month ago and I loved it!
I like alot Sheikh Zayed road, the Jumeirah beach, the expensive cars, the beach with nice Palms all over...
People are very kind...they speak english, the skyscrapers are new and more beautiful than in USA. The local girls are nice and friendly and good looking.
I like even when the islamites start singing at morning and evening, from the mosque.

Dubai is just cool.

Do I miss anything?
I just think its too good to be true.
Probably its hard to get visa to live there???

Thanks!

I am moving to Egypt in 5 weeks and keep coming up with questions I need help finding answers to. lol This is my 3rd question: Are the outlets the same as in America? for example, do I have to get a converter to plug my hair dryer into before I plug it into the wall at a house in Egypt (I've heard you have to do that in England).

Hi all,
A very close friend of mine was recently catched in Dubai for possesing fake dirhams. I am sure he is not guilty because it was just one banknote of 100 dirhams, and he has nothing to do with such criminal activities....in fact he is realty broker here in Dubai.
Anyway, could anyone tell me what are the charges for such a crime by the law?

Thanks alot!
