habibi is a term of endearment. like "my love" or "beloved" you will hear men call their wives this or so.

In slang its like "my girl/my boy" though most men will say "ahki" for brother in arabic.

Habibi addressed to a man is not taken kindly in Saudi Arabia. But it is ok in Kuwait or UAE.
