Calling to Egypt, from USA, using a phone card? help Please!?

Question

i have a personal friend that lives in Egypt. when we talk, i use my Cell phone to call to Egypt. But recently, i found that the calls i've made, are VERY expensive.
Can i use a Pre-paid phone card instead, but still using my cell phone?
oh, public phones are not an option for me.

What i'm trying to avoid is my friend's number, NOT showing up on the monthly bill. I don't want their number to show up on the monthly bill on my cell phone, if i do use a pre-paid phone card.
will this work??? or can i use my house phone, and use the pre-paid calling card, but not have their number show up on the montly house phone bill. will this work??

You can buy phone cards to call Egypt. The phone cards are sold online, and once you purchase they are sent to your e-mail (PINs and instructions are sent) and then you can make a call immediately.

U can use a pre-paid phone cards w/ ur cell phone. The customer service # (the 800 #) would show on ur bill, not ur friend's #. However, the mins would be deducted from ur plan, but just as local mins, not international. So it's alot cheaper than just using ur cell phone.
Some 1-800 customer service numbers don't work on land lines if u only have a local land line. So I'm not so sure if the phone card would work from ur house phone or not. If it works, then it shouldn't show up on the bill.

I would say use the pre-paid card but use your house phone when you call, coz my father does that and i don't think that the number appears on the monthly bill. I agree with Wise Heart, you can also use the internet to telephone your friend...
what to do is simple:

Just download windows live messenger..
tell your friend to do the same and both make an email adress (if you haven't got one) then one of you adds the other on their contact list..

After that open an istant message convo with your friend and click on the telephone icon and then click "call computer"..
Note: you and your friend both need a mic..
so after you've clicked "call computer" your friend should accept and then all you do is talk!

It sounds long but trust me it's really easy..

If your friend doesn't have a computer then don't worry, just use the pre-paid calling card and remember use your housephone to call not your cell phone!

prepaid phone card calling is a lot cheaper than calling to Egypt directly from ur cell phone. yes u can still make calls to egypt from ur cell but using a prepaid phone card and the number will not show on ur phone bill.i know that for sure cuz i used to use calling cards to call egypt when i was in usa. if u have free night n weekends in ur phone plan u better call at night or weekends cuz the minutes u use r still gonna be counted.

You can use your cell phone or land line and prepaid calling card to call to Egypt from USA. If you use calling card, your friend's number will not be shown on the monthly bill. Only calling card access number will be shown.

Using prepaid card is better but there are other ways through the Internet and phone. Also AT&T something like that. Actually you need someone who used all ways and checked if it apears in the monthly bill or not.

Using a pre-paid pohone card the 800 number you dial will show up. it will count minutes and other thiongs depending on your plan. cheaper to have a land line and use the card
