Hi all,
A very close friend of mine was recently catched in Dubai for possesing fake dirhams. I am sure he is not guilty because it was just one banknote of 100 dirhams, and he has nothing to do with such criminal activities....in fact he is realty broker here in Dubai.
Anyway, could anyone tell me what are the charges for such a crime by the law?

Thanks alot!

No one here could tell you what the charges could be. It's left up to the judge only.

Sorry to say that, but it sounds a little bit strange. Never heard about a faked 100 dhs bill. We are talking here about around USD 27, 00 right? Are you sure you got the whole story?

Take care and all the best for your friend.

^ Above are sarcastic

It would surely be a FINE.
If it was something THAT BAD! (few days of jail) which i a really don't think so.

In my opinion i believe that it's his problem for not checking the paper to be original at the first place.

you are held by the law of the country you are in, no matter what nationality you are,, so if I were you, have your friend get a local good lawyer,, he is looking at jail time and a fine....
