South Africa has created a monument known as 'Freedom Park'. It is basically a monument commemorating the names of people that gave their lives for the anti-apartheid 'struggle', and 'freeing' South Africa.
Included amongst the 68 000 names are the names of Cuban soldiers that apparently gave their lives for the cause of freedom.
Think about that for a second: The Cubans died for freedom.
Seldom have I encountered such evil hypocrisy. How is it possible for inmates from Castro's island penal colony known as Cuba to have fought for freedom when they are prisoners themselves?

Kind of puts in perspective how free the New South Africa is.

Much to the horror of the other Saffa's here, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to admit to being with you on this one Brad.
I find it so unfair and unjust that my father, uncle and many more young South African boys (by God they where 17 and 18) where forced to join the army or go to prison, then had to spend all that time on the border, risking life and limb, seeing their friend get blown to mince next to them, only to return and get told: "Sorry you where backing the wrong horse".
Steve Hoffmeyer is actually doing something good with his fame, and is insisting on putting flowers outside of the monument everyday for the soldiers who where left out, and next time I visit SA I will do the same thing, cause I find it unfair that my father's youth was ripped from him in such an unfair manner, only for him to get a slap like this in the face!

As i have said before...its a lot of bull...
Never in your life 68 000....

6 000 maybe......(and i will question even that)
60 000 names to try and impress the idiots that
go there....60 000 names of people that never
existed...
I lived through those times....and know the facts...
And by the way if it was so then the 365 days of the
year...would then be all public holidays...
as it is now the counrty with the most public holidays
in the world.....

Tragic indeed for for many South Africans.
Realize that one freedom fighter is another's terrorist and vies-a-viz.
These Cubans were pauns, used by their government and the USSR to further their communist ideology. They succeeded because the ANC in power is very communist.
